SOME BUNNY TO LOVE

MONEY  BUNNY
It's been said that money is everything. Hence
one might assume the beautiful abodes in most
magazines are far beyond our reach. Amongst
my favorites were those owned by Mrs. Bunny
Mellon. To the manor born, she was not only
rich but a renowned horticulturalist, gardener,
art collector, and philanthropist. Heiress to the
Listerine empire, she also had the good fortune
to marry Paul Mellon heir to an even bigger and
better banking empire. Therefore money was no
object. And yet Bunny had something that even
all the money in the world couldn't buy. An eye
with elan,  impeccable taste, and innate chic.
CHIC PEEK
Over her one hundred and four years on
this earth Bunny created and maintained
multiple homes. All elegant, charming,
and quite unique. Yet during her lifetime,
few had access to the world she created.
It was only after her death and subsequent
auctions that we got a glimpse into her
rarified world. One where art, antiques,
and comfortable furniture commingled
in harmony. And while on the surface
said assemblage appeared carefree - in
reality all within was carefully curated
by the sophisticated lady of the house.
COPY CATS
The very idea of living in
such a rarified world could
seem impossible. Causing
one to wonder whether we
mortals could ever hope to
create such lovely spaces.
However all that's required
to do just that is creativity,
vision, and the ability to
patiently build a room step
by step. Consider the French
provincial table shown left
in Bunny's Virginia estate
Greenhouse. As I write we
have a close match in our
